Here are some answers to frequently asked questions about the church to give you a picture of what Redemption’s Hill Church looks like week to week and hopefully address issues important to you.
About Our Services
+What kind of people make up Redemption's Hill?
What you’ll encounter when you attend Redemption’s Hill Church is a diverse biblical community where people seek to know and love God, live in community and make disciples. Our average age is around 25 currently but we are not trying to only be a young generation church, all ages and races are welcomed into the community of Christ at Redemption’s Hill.
+What if I'm not used to going to church? That’s ok, you are the reason we started Redemption’s Hill Church. We want Redemption’s Hill to be a place where you can learn, apply and wrestle with who God is and what He wants for you. It’s okay if you don’t have it all figured out yet.
+What will the worship service be like? To put it simply, we teach from the Bible. We pray and we sing. The goal through it all is not to wow you, it’s to love God and know him better by making God’s unchanging truth accessible without watering it down.
+What should I wear?At R.H., you’re welcome to wear whatever you’d like. There is no set dress code, although the attire is more on the casual side. Just be you.
+What about my kids? We do have a kids class available, which is held in the Arc’s nursery/daycare area. We also are currently working on a gospel focused kids curriculum for the kids, that will pair with what the adults are learning. Age range for kids class would be crawling to 10 years of age.
+Can I invite my friends? Please do. We seek to be a welcoming environment for people who are curious about Christianity or who are seeking to belong to a community of believers.
About The Church
+How old is R.H.?Redemption’s Hill is a church plant, so from the perspective of having corporate services we are a very young church. But our core group has been meeting, studying and praying together since April of 2009.
+What kind of church is Redemption's Hill?We are an nondenominational Christian church which means we have people from all different backgrounds. Though we do not have any denominational ties, we are affiliated with the
Acts 29 church planting network.
+Who leads Redemption's Hill?Redemption’s Hill is an elder-led, but member informed, church.
What are elders?
Elders are the leaders of the church also called pastors, bishops, and overseers in the New Testament (Eph 4:11; 1 Pet 5:2; Acts 20:28). The elders are men chosen for their ministry according to clear biblical qualifications (1 Timothy 3:1-7; Titus 1:5-9). The elders are always spoken of in plurality because God intends for more than one man to lead and rule over the church as a safeguard for both the church and the man.
Who Are Your Current Elders?
Currently, planting pastor T.J. Dreyer serves as the local elder for Redemption’s Hill Church. While an advisory board has been created that functions as external elders until qualified men locally can be appointed.
+How can I get involved?Redemption’s Hill is a church desperate to create and live out our faith as a community of Christ. With that first and foremost we’d like you to get involved in a missional community. Missional community groups are the way we seek to live in light of the gospel in ways we are unable to on our own. We gather weekly in groups of 10-20 people for fellowship and food, discussion and prayer. Missional communities are a vital expression of Redemption’s Hill’s mission and where we live the ups and downs of life together.
More missional communtiy information can be found here.
